WELDED MESH

Standard welded mesh options (PDF)

As the name suggests, welded mesh is a process of making small welds at each wire crossing, which results in a durable and less flexible product. That decrease in flexibility is ideal for customers who need a product that requires some additional structural integrity. Unlike woven mesh, which if not properly utilized can fray slightly at the ends when cut, welded mesh can be trimmed, sheared, or otherwise shaped to meet your needs with no fear of the product coming apart thanks to each of the welds.

The applications for welded mesh include commercial, industrial, and mining and we have also worked with on security applications as well as with architects, designers and artists.

Terminology

When dealing with welded mesh, there are several terms you will need to be familiar with:

  • Wire Diameter or Gauge – Describes the diameter of the wire used throughout the mesh.

  • Opening – Measured from the center to center of the wire

  • Material – This is a description on what the mesh is made of and varies depending on the individual product.

  • Product Size – This is the final size of each sheet of mesh.
